Tractor Supply Pet Fair

We had a great day at the Tractor Supply Company in Danville, IL on Saturday. Through Petfinder.com, where we list all our adoptable horses, we found out they were having a pet extravaganza day. They were so accommodating and had a huge round pen set up for us with a stock tank full of water for us.

We set up our booth and got the horses comfortable in the round pen.

Kiwi & MachoMan did their usual trick of bringing the people in to come visit with us.

We forgot to bring some chairs so Molly (the bay quarter horse) and Daisy (the paint) substituted in a pinch.

Daisy is “green broke” which means she really has not had that much riding experience and only knows the basics. Molly was with a great foster home this summer who took her out on trails and got her accepting a saddle, rider, etc. She needs some work on steering but has a decent stop and back-up. But both of these horses had no problems with our silly volunteers hopping on them bareback and steering them around with just a halter at the side of a store parking lot. That’s really saying something for these horses. While we don’t ever recommend green horses for beginners, both of these mares have nice calm personalities that will really make them SUPER horses for just about anyone on down the road.

We got some donations, sold some T-shirts, and talked to several people who were interested in adopting each horse, as well as some potential volunteers. Thanks so much to Tractor Supply for having us (and inviting us back!). You can check out the rest of the pics from our fun Saturday below.
